Based on the historic Anglican prayer book tradition, it is designed to help churches, families, and individuals worship with the rich biblical and liturgical tradition that is rooted in the English Reformation.
The Book of Common Prayer (2019) includes four rites of the Daily Office (Morning Prayer, Midday Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline) along with four shorter daily devotions for Family Prayer; the Great Litany and Decalogue, two forms of Holy Communion along with services of Baptism, Confirmation, and other Pastoral Rites; the Psalter; Episcopal Services; the Special Liturgies of Lent and Holy Week; Collects and Occasional Prayers; Calendars and Lectionaries; and the Documentary Foundations of the Anglican Church in North America.
The Traditional Language Edition of the Book of Common Prayer (2019) is authorized by the College of Bishops of the Anglican Church in North America for use in public and private worship and was approved as a faithful rendering of the Book of Common Prayer (2019) into the hieratic idiom of Elizabethan English.
